MAC Rhi Rhi Woo Lipstick

(Image from Temptlia.com)

I am a huge red lipsick fan. I never really check to see if they are cool or warm toned, if its a shade I don't have in my collection I am buying it!

Mac's Russian Red was the only Mac red I had in my stash, with Ruby Woo always tempting me, but when I saw Rhi Rhi Woo pop up on Rhianna's instagram account I knew I had to get my paws on it.

The swatch above I pinched from Christine from Temptalia.com as I still haven't had a special enough occasion to use it. It just looks too perfect in the bullet, with the signature etched into the side, Is any one else like that?

Rhi Rhi Woo is a matte cool red with a retro finish, It is supposed to be very similar to their classic Ruby Woo with a slightly more deeper colouring.

Have you tried Rhi Rhi Woo? Or any other of Rhiannas Mac collection?

An introduction to Clarins Skincare

Clarins Facial Skincare

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

When my favourite beauty bloggers highly recommend something it immediately goes onto my lust list on my phone. This purchase I blame on Anna from Viviannadoesmakeup after raving about the Clarins Liquid Bronze Self-Tanning Lotion in numerous posts and youtube videos. Due to my very very pale skin complexion I often need a little colour just to take the edge off.

In the past I had tried a whole range of facial tanners that either clinged to dry patches, went streaky if applied in a rush or didn't add a splash of bronze at all. So when  I came across it in my local beauty salon when having my eyebrows waxed (and it came with a few freebies) I couldn't resist.

The easiest way to describe it is like a milk, its quite watery in comparison to most fake tans. Once applied all over the face it sinks in super quick so is ideal as a final step in your evening skincare or in the morning a few minutes before you apply your make up. I like to apply it a couple of times a week with my hands to I work it more accurately around my hair line and blend it around my décolletage but it can be applied with a cotton pad if you prefer. For £18 (I think it can be found cheaper online) I think its great for girls that need that little bronze boost.

As I also brought the Clarins Extra-Firming Day cream for my mum (She can't live without it) I was allowed to pick three (large) samples so I chose the hugely popular Beauty Flash Balm which I had never tried before and now can't apply my make up without, the Smoothing Body Scrub which is such a nice exfoliator I like to use weekly for a pick me up and the Vital light day SPF 15 which came in handy over the few days of sun we have had so far.

As a Clarins virgin before this mini haul I am really impressed and keen to try a few more, I would say its a little pricier when I would usually spend on skincare but after the difference it has made I think it is worth the investment.

Are there any Clarins Products you think I should try next?

Embellished

Caviar nails have been so popular recently, so many places sell sets now from the original Ciate sets to Nails inc and Topshop. It wasn't a trend I was dying to try out even though I love my nail polishes and I always let it pass me by.

That was until I saw this small set for a purse friendly £2.50 in Primark, it was too much of a bargain to leave. After painting 2 coats onto each nail when still still tacky I poured the beads on my ring fingers and then patted down a little and left to dry (I love an accent nail so thought this would be a better option than a full on manicure with the beads like directed.) The beads stick instantly and went on evenly which was great. I really like the finished result but after only a day some beads began to fall off and loose their colour. I would recommend the set just because its so cheap, the nail varnish alone is worth that as it is such a gorgeous deep pink colour. I would say if you want the beads on your nails for an event to do them that morning just to ensure a perfect finish.

What do you think of the Primark Embellished set? Have you tried any other Caviar nails sets?

MUA Heaven & Earth Palette

I love brown eyeshadows. I don't tend to wear any other colour, maybe a green if Im feeling brave but browns tend to be a constant may it be day or night. I had seen the MUA Heaven & Earth Palette around in the blogosphere but MUA isn't sold in my local superdrug/boots and I didn't think I was greatly missing out, ooh how wrong I was! When I saw the last palette on the shelf and saw how gorgeous the colours were I knew it had to come home with me.

I am lucky in the way that all the colours in the palette suit my skin tone, depending on the look I am going for may it be flawless and natural or deep and smokey. Seen as the palette is a bargain £4 I didn't have much hope for the quality of the products, but again I was wrong. I use a flat eye shadow brush to pack on the colour and then blend with the mac 217 brush which leaves a lovely flawless finish with no harsh edges. The eyeshadows are really pigmented and I love that so far I have experienced little to no fall out when applying. I was really impressed with the staying power too, after applying a smokey eye and then working a long 8 hour shift in a pub there was little creasing and the colour was still strong.
I can't receommend this palette enough especially due to the price, I am looking to perhaps grab another in some more daring colours to help me break out of my brown eyeshadow rut.

Have you tried the MUA Heaven & Earth Palette? Or can you recommend me any others?

Rook Piercing

Last thursday at the spur of the moment my best friend and I decided on an impromptu visit to Inked Up a new Piercing and tattoo parlor in Chester. I have wanted a rook piercing for almost a year now but could never justify the trip to Manchester (where I have had my previous piercings done) Just to get my ear pierced. My good friend Rebekah had a tattoo at Inked Up and could only rave about the place so I knew I would be in safe hands.

The Gorgeous Rebecca Fox pierced it for £20. On a pain scale of 1 to 5 I would say it is a 4, it did hurt but not unbearable pain and it definitely helped to have a friend there to hold my hand. Now still healing, I clean it twice daily with either warm salt water or liquid savlon and have had no problems. I have bashed it twice when answering the phone and forgetting the piercing is there but its not been catching on anything, getting tangled in hair and I can already sleep on it.

I know piercings aren't to everybody's taste but personally I love it and so glad I had it done. If you want to check out my other piercings I have written a post about them Here

Do you have your rook pierced? or have you been thinking about it?
