Yesterday I popped along to the Chester Affordable Vintage Fair in the Chester Guildhall.
If your not already make sure you 'Like' their Facebook Page and it can keep you updated as to when and where their vintage fairs are traveling around the country and are appearing in your local area.
As i live in a small village in North Wales i have to travel over an hour to go to Vintage fairs and stores, usually in Manchester or Liverpool so its great when something like this comes closer to home.
The usual POP Boutique and local kitsch jewellery makers were there selling cute and interesting items, but there was a stall that i was really drawn to, ran by an older lady that just seemed to have cleaned out her wardrobe as she had no store, website or even business cards to hand out. OH MY did she have some amazing finds Vintage Biba, Chelsea Girl and Mary Quant were my favourites, I fell in love with a beige Mary Quant trench but at £80 i didn't have enough cash on me. Instead to feed my addiction i brought this Mary Quant scarf for a bargain £10. Covered in her signature flowers with a larger poppy and her signature in the bottom corner i cant decide what to wear with it first...... Any ideas??
Also from her stall i brought this lovely silky Biba Shirt for £20, I can't wait to wear it maybe just tucked into some jeans with a blazer but first i am looking for a brooch to pin in the center of the collar.
Another stall I loved was Lily Vintage I brought the Coco Chanel Quote Tee below for £15 but they sold all the staples of a good vintage store, actual clothes you can wear without having to alter them yourself, and YAY they have a store on the high street in Chester. It is about time a store like this has come closer to home, I am hoping that the tartan blazer I was eyeing up hasn't gone before my next visit and i cant wait to buy some vintage Levi shorts for the summer.
Have you found any bargain vintage finds recently and blogged about them?
Send me your links I would love to see
